John Dwaine Rice of Chicago, Illinois was born September 15, 1947 at Chicago. He worked at the Admissions Department at the University of Illinois at Chicago and was a Methodist.

Dwaine died Friday, February 15, 2008 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago after a sudden illness at the age of 60. He was preceded in death by his sister, Melody Rice.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Louise Herring and Rex "Mike" Cook of Sheridan, Arkansas; father and step-mother, John Charles and Marie Rice of Dardanelle, Arkansas; brother, Darryl Rice of Albuquerque, New Mexico; niece, Joanna Rice and Grandniece Hannah; step-sister, Nesa Schneyder of Laureldale, Pennsylvania; step-brothers, Michael Cook of San Diego, California and Earl "Skip" Foust of Los Angeles, California.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel at Sheridan. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery near Sheridan. Visitation:12:00 noon until service time.
Pallbearers will be Hughie Dunnahoe, Hughie Wayne Dunnahoe, Jason Rice, Gary Thrower, Dennis Reaves and Earl Reaves.
Memorials may be made to the Community Center on Halstead or the Brown Elephant.
