John Jerrell Rice, Sr. of Hensley was born September 2, 1936 at Hermitage, Arkansas, the son of the late James Madison and Argie Booker Rice. He died at his home on March 29, 2008 at the age of 71 years. He was a graduate of Hermitage High School; and was retired supervisor for Reynolds Company and also retired from Operations of City of Little Rock Asphalt Plant.

Sons: John Jerrell "Bud" Rice, Jr. of East End;
(Bonus-son): Chuck and wife Teresa Tripp of Sheridan

2 daughters: Rachel Theresa and husband Doug Piker of Crossett;

and Tanya Berryman of Bryant

3 brothers: Ed Rice of Warren;
Donnie Rice of Warren; and
Thomas Rice of Hermitage

Sister: Judy Curry of Pine Bluff

6 grandchildren: Jessica Lauren Rice;
Chuck Wilcox;
Kimberly Barthol;
Matthew Berryman;
Madison Berryman; and
Joshua Tripp

Funeral will be Monday, March 31, 2008 at 10 AM at East End Baptist Church with Rev. Jessie Whitley and Rev. Chuck Tripp officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Ridge Cemetery near Hermitage, Arkansas at 2:30 PM Monday afternoon.
