Johnnie Lee Freeman formerly of Sheridan, Arkansas died February 23, 2010 at
the age of 85 in Jacksonville, Florida following complications of surgery.
She was born August 4, 1924 in Sheridan to the late John and Bessie Williams
Southerland. She was educated in the Sheridan Schools.
She married Vernon Foster Freeman in Sheridan, September 1950 and celebrated
59 years of marriage. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church for
more than 50 years and served faithfully for 25 years as Sunday School
Secretary. She was retired from West Bend Company.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Zella Ruth Jordan, sister and
brother-in-law, Eva and Garland Stubbs. Brother, Pete Southerland
Survivors include her husband; Foster Freeman, Son; John David Freeman,
Granddaughter; Jodi (Tommy) Gelaro, Grandson; Jeffery Freeman,
Great-granddaughter; Jessica Gelaro, all of Jacksonville, Florida:
Son-in-law; Joe Jordan, Sheridan, Arkansas, Niece; Bette Sue (John) Trotter,
Austin, Arkansas, Cherished Sister-in-law; Margie (Eugene) Burton, Ruston,
Louisiana, Special niece; Jeanette (Jim) Munds, Sheridan, Arkansas,
Sister-in-law; Demarise Freeman, Sheridan, Arkansas.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Friday 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
Funeral service will be Saturday 10:00 A.M. at First Assembly of God Church with the
Reverend John Trotter, Reverend Jimmy Bobo and Reverend Eddie Gwin
officiating.
Burial will follow in Lost Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be D.L. Roberts, R.L. Beck, Arnold Hardin, Billy Williams, Hubert Moore, Jerry Winkler, Jim Munds and Barry Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be James Earl Edwards and Jim Bradshaw.
