Johnny Young of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 7, 1931 at Sheridan, the son of the late Carl and Maggie Atchley Young. He was a member of Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church at Sheridan, had served 8 years in the Air Force, was retired owner of Young's Service Company specializing in air conditioner sales and service, was a member of Magnolia Masonic Lodge in Little Rock, and was founder of HYD Hunting Club. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors and gardening. In fact, he was known as the "Tomato Man" to all of his nurses at Baptist Medical Center. Johnny will best be remembered by his faithful love and devotion to his family.
Mr. Young died Monday, April 3, 2006 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 74. He was preceded in death by brothers, Leonard and Cleo Young and a sister, Catherine Gwin.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Whitehurst Young of Sheridan; Son, Johnny Ray Young of East End; Daughters, Myra Toliver of Sheridan and Carol Ann Pinkston of Hamilton, Ohio; Step-sons, David Douglass of Benton and Billy Douglass of Bryant; Sister, Birdie Curry of Harlingen, Texas; 12 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan with Bro. Carter Pearce officiating. Burial will be at the Center Campground Cemetery in the Prague Community. Visitation: Tuesday, 6:30-8:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Luke Pinkston, Morgan Pinkston, Randy Edwards, Wesley Douglas, Wesley Crouch, Gary Cooper, Jim George, Chris Hughes and Dusty Sexton. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Gleaners Sunday School Class. The family would like to say a very special and heartfelt "Thank You" to the nurses at Baptist Congestive Heart Failure Center for the care and kindness that each of you have shown to our loved one.
