Jonathan Randall Smith of Bettendorf, Iowa was born February 10, 1959, in Little Rock, the son of the late Jearl and Charlene Hollinger Smith. Jonathan attended Henderson State University and majored in Aviation. He was a commercial airline pilot beginning his career with LoneStar Express and then flew for Southwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines. He was also a member of the Lion's Club. From a young age, he grew up with a love for deer hunting and the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Jonathan died December 23, 2022, at his home at the age of 63. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Griffin and Ethel Smith, and Charlie and Maude Hollinger.

Survivors: wife, Bobbi Jo Smith of Bettendorf, Iowa, son Griffin (Bliss) Smith and daughter, Rachel (Cain) Nattin of Sheridan and numerous extended family members.

A memorial service will be Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 11:00 AM at First Landmark Baptist Church with Brother Shawn Hill officiating. A family burial will follow at a later date.
