Joseph Edward Horton of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 4, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late Basil William Horton, Jr. and Nelda Lee Durham Horton. He was a retired car salesman and had served his country in the Marines during the Vietnam war. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching football.

Mr. Horton died on January 1, 2025 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton at the age of 74.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Andrews Horton.

Survivors: sister, Marilyn Ann Morris of Walkertown, NC: best friends and caregivers, Mika and Terra Evans of Prattsville;

Graveside services will be Thursday,  January 9, 2025 at Noon at the Arkansas Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
