Joyce Lee Benfield Smith, 86 years old, from Sheridan, Arkansas was born March 22, 1935 to Clarence and Cora Benfield in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She was a member of the former Hope Pentecostal Church in Sheridan, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and loved her family with all she had. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, sitting on her front porch, looking at her flowers and flower gardens and watching the hummingbirds.

Ms. Smith died at her home on Sunday, April 11 ^th , surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Winnie Jo Croy and a brother, Charles Benfield.

Survivors include her son, Roy Dean (Diane) Smith of Sheridan, her daughter Patricia Bryant of Sheridan, her son, Jerry Smith of Sheridan, and her son, Terry (Deanna) Smith of Sherwood. She had seven grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Mark Smith, Nathan Smith, Judith Taylor, Joshua Taylor, Crystal (Harold) Mullins and Joseph (Cortney) Bryant. She had 10 great grandchildren. Sister, Melvis Smith of Sheridan and brother, Carl (Wanda) Benfield of Sheridan and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Special thanks to lifelong family friend, Donna Carol Pilkington for her love and support.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation is also Saturday, from 12:30-2:00 P.M.
