Joyce Downen Taylor of Sheridan, Arkansas was born September 28, 1955 in Sheridan, the daughter of the late Edward H. and Vernie Mae Anders Downen. She worked for Department of Corrections for 35 years. She loved to shop, travel and fish. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her job.

Joyce died Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton at the age of 70.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Taylor; her daughter, Amber Taylor; sister, Martha Mayhugh; and brother, Billy Ray Downen.

Survivors: son, Chris (Hollie) Taylor of Tumbling Shoals; brother-in-law, David Mayhugh of Sheridan; grandchildren, Cammie (Christian) Taylor, Kaitlyn Roberts, Michael (Emily) Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Keaton (McKenzie) Ross, Tyler Moss; great grandchildren, Norah, Waylon, Luke, Delilah, Oaklynn; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; best friend, Glenda Darnell; her dog Hope.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 24, 2025 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Brent Williams officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Friendship Cemetery in Rison.
