Juanice Benning Pumphrey of Prattsville, Arkansas was born August 26, 1941,in Prattsville,  the daughter of the late Hubert "Red" Benning and Arine Mooney Benning. She was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville. She enjoyed gardening, and growing and tending to the St. Augustine in her yard. Her life revolved around cooking for others in their time of need.

Ms. Pumphrey died Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at her home at the age of 77.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Dean Pumphrey, an infant daughter, and a brother Donald "Duck" Benning.

Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Neal and Lindsey Pumphrey of Prattsville; grandchildren, Madison and husband Zach Diaz, Makenzie Pumphrey; brother-in-law, Scott and wife Ruth Pumphrey of Huntington Beach, CA; sisters-in-law, Jill Pumphrey of Prattsville, Darlene Benning of Austin, Texas; nephews, Rick Benning, Todd Benning ; niece, Sandy Benning and a host of church family and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 5, 2019 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Pat Greer and Bro. John Mooney officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, Widows Fund, P.O. Box 37, Prattsville, Arkansas 72129.

Pallbearers are Poodle Bennings, Edwin Carter, Daniel Crutchfield, Donnie Pumphrey, Mark Pumphrey and Blake Carr. Honorary pallbearers are Leonard Hollinger and Troy Gregory.
