Obituary

Margie Juanita Shellnut Jackson of Sheridan, Arkansas was born June 23, 1926 near Sheridan, the daughter of the late James Herman and Velva Lee Page Shellnut. She was a member of Marlow Missionary Baptist Church and spent most of her adult life selling shoes. She and her husband owned Jackson's Shoes in Sheridan for a number of years, she also worked for Jack Somers Shoes and Topps Shoes. Known by everyone as "Granny", she was truly the matriarch (Boss) of the family. She openly shared her thoughts on any subject that you needed an opinion on, and her family gladly listened. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her big smile, and her home that was open to anyone. Her grandchildren remember her "sucker tree" and all the popsicles they could eat. Among her other talents, God blessed Granny with a green thumb and she could grow the largest and most beautiful flowers.
