Obituary

Nedgie Juanita Taylor of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on January 15, 2009 following a brief illness. She was born in Grapevine, Arkansas on April 6, 1920 to the late Tom and Dovie Ross Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her husband Morris Taylor who passed away on May 30, 1975, and Lloyd Hedden who died in May 1992. She was a nurse for 31 years at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

For the past five years, she has resided in Birmingham, Alabama with her daughter and son-in-law. Although she was a life long and active member of her beloved First Baptist Church in Sheridan, she quickly began attending and was active in Lakeside Baptist Church, Birmingham, Alabama where she traveled regularly with the Seniors Group.

Survivors are a daughter, Kati Taylor Wilkerson and husband Jerry of Birmingham, Alabama; son, Tommy Taylor and wife Dian, of Arab, Alabama.

Grandchildren: Dr. Rick (Anna) Wilkerson of Baltimore, Maryland; Lance (Crystal) Wilkerson of Birmingham, Alabama; Tod (April) Taylor of Huntsville, Alabama; Tammy (Mike) Allen of Arab, Alabama; Pamela (David) Brady of Healdton, Oklahoma.

Great-grandchildren: Blake (Kelly Brook) Brady, Norman, Oklahoma; Taylor Brady, Healdton, Oklahoma; Natalie (Juston) Norman, Healdton, Oklahoma; Ross Allen, Sara Allen and Rebecca Allen all of Arab, Alabama; Rachel and Alexandra Taylor of Huntsville, Alabama; Luke, Katherine and Lauren Wilkerson, all of Baltimore, Maryland; and Lance Jeffrey Wilkerson, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama. One deceased great-grandchild, Michael Lewis Allen.

Pallbearers: Jerry Wilkerson, Dr. Rick Wilkerson, Lance Wilkerson, Tod Taylor, Shelby Taylor, David Brady, Mike Allen, Ross Allen and Blake Brady.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 1201 South Rock St. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM. with Bro. Mark Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow at the Grapevine Cemetery.
