Obituary

J.W. Harrington, Jr. of Prattsville, Arkansas was born October 10, 1934 in Prattsville the son of the late John William Harrington, Sr. and Naomi Gladys Williams Harrington.

He was a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville and had retired from Reynolds Metals. He had also worked for the Arkansas Highway Department and Arkla Gas Company.

Mr. Harrington died Monday, April 20, 2009 at his home at the age of 74.

In his early life, he was an avid hunter and fisherman while in later life he enjoyed watching the wildlife. He was a collector of old tools and he loved to restore old buggies. He also enjoyed music especially the old gospel hymns and bluegrass.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Levin Harrington.

Survivors: Wife, Pauline Johnson Harrington of Prattsville;
Son, Paul Harrington and wife Angie of Summerville, South Carolina;
Brother, Julian Harrington of Prattsville;
Granddaughter, Victoria Harrington of Summerville, South Carolina;
Father and mother in law, Bro. J.P. and Maebell Johnson of Prattsville;

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, April 24, 2009 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home chapel with Bro. O.J. Ramick and Bro. Don Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville. Visitation: 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Helen Stephens, Marvin Butler, Russell Levart, Freddy Harrington, John H. Ashcraft, Brian Harrington and Darryl Harrington.
