Karen Lee Meister Sappington, of Sheridan, Arkansas was born August 3, 1956 at California, the daughter of Carl and Dorothy Roth Meister. She was a member of the Prattsville Congregation of Jehovah's Witness's and worked at the Sheridan Recreation Center as the weekend supervisor. She was an active person, who enjoyed pastel painting, hiking, going to movies and festivals, and also spending time at home with her husband and their pets.

Mrs. Sappington died Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Hot Spring County Medical Center in Malvern, at the age of 60, as the result of an accident.

She was preceded in death by a brother, George Meister.
She is survived by her best friend and husband, Larry "Barney" Sappington of Sheridan; parents, Carl and Dorothy Meister of Carson City, Nevada; brothers, Carl Meister, Jr., Richard Meister, Joseph Meister, Kirk Meister, Gregory Meister; sisters, Dorothy Ann Divecchio, Christine Gibson, Carol Kemnitz, Roxanne Stora, Mary Meister and Kay Weibracht; mother-in-law, Elsie Sappington; sister-in-law, Julie Sappington McAlister, both of Sheridan. She is also survived by her beloved dog "Molly" and her cat "Carlene".

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with Elder Mark Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
