Obituary

Katherine Winbury Webb of Sheridan, Ark., was born Oct. 10, 1944, in Little Rock, Ark., and passed away on Dec. 12, 2021, at home surrounded by her family following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late J.W. and Christine Winbury of Little Rock in the East End community.

Katherine was a member of New Life Fellowship in Sheridan. She loved her Lord, her husband, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She had a great love for animals, and had she had the space and money she would have had an animal rescue site of her own.

She had worked at Tudy Dorey's Dress Shoppe, Wal-Mart and The Sheridan Headlight for many years where she enjoyed interacting with customers and her work buddies, LeAnn McGarrah and Millie McClain. Her favorite place of employment was always the years she spent working with Dr. Harry Bryant at Sheridan Animal Care.

She was preceded in death by her parents: J.W. and Christine Teague Winbury; and her son: Randall Webb. She was also preceded by her special four-legged companion and protector, Miss Trixie.

Katherine is survived by her husband: Eugene Webb, whom she married on Feb. 10, 1963, in Benton, Ark. She is also survived by her daughters: Melody Webb Moorehouse and husband, Phil of Redfield, and Kristin Webb Sumpter and husband, Jon of Garfield; four grandchildren: Nathan Smith of Redfield, Justin Hall and wife, Bailey of Camden, Nicholas Hall and wife, Tara of Sheridan, and Brooke Moorehouse of Redfield; three great-grandchildren: Allie, Alexis and Autumn Smith of Redfield; and a sister: Shirley Winbury Bennett and husband, Keith of the Landmark Community in Little Rock. Also among her survivors is her special friend and hairdresser, Laura Aaron, whom she loved like a daughter; and her fur buddy: Oliver, whom she hopes will keep her husband company while she is gone.

She has deeply appreciated over the years the support of Dr. Orsini, Dr. Burton, the staff at M.D. Anderson and especially most recently the staff of Arkansas Hospice. She and nurse Gail Pate had developed a deep bond, and Katherine loved her like a member of the family.

At her request she will be cremated. A celebration of life service will be held at New Life Fellowship on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Sheridan.

Arrangements were by Memorial Garden Funeral Home in Sheridan.

She greatly appreciates Michael Walton and Leah Reynolds, who was also her neighbor, for their guidance and support. They have a difficult job and special calling.
