Kenneth Oneal "K.O." Sites, 99, of Sheridan, Arkansas passed away August 11, 2014 at his home with his family. He was born September 20, 1914 to the late William and Blanche Knowles Sites in Booneville, Arkansas.
Kenneth was a member of First Christian Church of Sheridan, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon, and Elder. He was made an Emeritus member of the church board at age 60. Kenneth was a leading figure in the development of the county 4-H Club program and strong supporter of the Future Farmers of America program in the Sheridan School System. Kenneth served on the advisory board of the Farmers Home Administration. He served as a County Committeeman for the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service for many years. He was a member of the Jr. Chamber of Commerce and the Lion's Club. Kenneth also served on the Farm Bureau Board for many years and became an Emeritus member at age 70. Kenneth was always supportive of agriculture and rural development. Kenneth and Clyde Sites co-owned Sites Bros. Dairy which consisted not only of producing Grade A milk, but also supplying all county school and many local residents with fresh Grade A milk. His greatest love, second to church and family, was raising beef cattle. A highlight in his cattle business was a sale, negotiated with the South Korean government to improve their countries' cattle industry. He was also recognized by the poultry industry for his accomplishments in poultry production.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Zulla Mae Pearce Sites; five sisters, Geneva Moore, Hazel Edwards, Mazel Smith, Willie Mae Brewer, and Jimmie Rae Goolsby; two brothers, James and Milburn Sites.
Survivors include three sons, Kenny Sites and wife Annette of Sheridan, Danny Sites of Sheridan, Bill Sites and wife Denise of Sherwood; three daughters, Donna Reynolds of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Sue Summerford and husband Burnell of White Hall, and Paulette Trusty and husband Mike of Little Rock; brothers, Clyde Sites and Carroll Sites; fourteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Doug McLain, Roger Steele, Shane Trusty, Chase Trusty, Dallas Sites, Hudson Sites, Toby Sites, Austin Trusty, and Tyler Boatright; Honorary Pallbearers will be great grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Charles Chamblee and Bro. Carroll Sites officiating. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
