Kenneth O. Mitchell of Sheridan, Arkansas was born December 22, 1928 in Jacksonville, Arkansas, the son of the late Lloyd and Emma Bryant Mitchell. He was a lifelong resident of Sheridan, a retired meter repairman for Arkla Gas and a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He had served in the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, working in the garden and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Mitchell went to be with his Lord on November 8, 2016 at the John L. McClellan VA Hospital in Little Rock at the age of 87.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary K. Mitchell, brother, Leon Mitchell; sisters, Grace Cooper and Shirley Cessna.

Survivors: son, Kenny and wife Sharon Mitchell; granddaughter, Missy and husband John Milliken; grandson, Adam and wife Michelle Mitchell; great grandchildren, Caden, Presley, and McCoy Milliken; Marissa and Andrew Mitchell all of East End; brothers, Elton and wife Betty Mitchell of Sheridan, James and wife Brenda Mitchell of Grapevine; sisters, Helen Crowder of Sheridan, Carolyn Brown of Sherwood, Mary and husband Jimmy Cummings of Pine Bluff and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 11, 2016 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation will be 5-7 Thursday at the funeral home.
