Obituary

Kenneth Coy West, Sr., of Sheridan, Arkansas was born May 23, 1944 at Cleveland, County, Arkansas, the son of the late Coy Lee West and Ruby Stone West Johnson. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church in Rye, and had formerly served in the Arkansas Army National Guard. Kenneth was a retired truck driver, who specialized in heavy hauling. He worked for McConnell Heavy Hauling for over 40 years. He really enjoyed collecting, and restoring, old tractors and machinery. He was the President of Central Arkansas Antique Machinery and Historical Society in Sheridan, Arkansas, a member of Rusty Relics in Nashville, Arkansas, and Tractors of the Past in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He was a founding member of Hazard Hunting Club in Ivan, Arkansas, and although he enjoyed hunting, what he liked better than that, was hunting with his sons and family.

Mr. West died peacefully, Saturday, November 9, 2019, while on a hunting trip with his family, at the age of 75. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Johnson and Huey Mack Stone.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Raney West of Sheridan; sons, Kenneth Coy West, Jr. and wife M. Leann of Sheridan, and Michael Shane West of Bismarck; grandsons Kenneth Coy West, III (Jessica) , Keifer Carl West (Amber), Colten Shane West; great grandchildren, Kameron  Cole West, Layla Byrd, Ryleeann West, Kenlee Micheyle West; brothers, Jerry McRae, Robert Lee Johnson, Jr., Bob Johnson, Helen Hogue, Betty Butters, Mable Whittemore, Linda Blair, Christine Hearon, Clarice Collins, Bernice Laue, Jeannette Abernathy. He is also survived by a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church (3363 Grant 57, Sheridan, Arkansas 72150), with Bro. Tyler Askew officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery. Visitation is also Wednesday, from 1:00 P.M., until service time.
