Kenneth Ray Wroten, 81, of Prattsville, died February 11, 2012 at his daughter's home.

Mr. Wroten was born April 7, 1930, in Miller County Arkansas, to Jewel and Minnie (Brown) Wroten.

He attended school in Fouke, AR until the age of 17, when he joined the army. After a tour of duty in Asia he settled in Northern CA and began a career as a crane operator in the logging industry. Later in life he returned to AR, continued as an operator in the construction industry, and finally enjoyed a long season of retirement. Kenneth enjoyed people and gained lasting friendships among co-workers, fellow church-members, neighbors, campers, and fishermen.

Those who preceded him in death were his mother and father; his daughter: Cathleen Hake; and his wife: Louise.

He is survived by his brothers: Robert of Fargo, OK and Gene of Texarkana, AR; by his sister: Jewelene McKenzie of Odessa, TX; by his son: Wade of CA; by his daughter: Lynn Benson of Prattsville; by his step-son: Robert Steven Nelson of AZ; by his step-daughter: Sally Wilcox of CA; and his fiancé, Janette Horton of Sheridan. Kenneth has five grand children and 8 great grand children.

Memorial services will be held at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan, AR on Thursday at 2: PM, preceded by a time of visitation. His long-time friend and pastor, Jerry Miller, will be officiating.
