Kyle Ruth Barnes Pruitt of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 3, 1952, in Sheridan, the daughter of John W. Barnes, Sr. and Betty Tribble Barnes. She was a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she was active in the Golden Ladies Group and also in Mid South Car Club. She retired from Grant County as Assistant Deputy Clerk, and enjoyed watching PBR, going to car club meetings and spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Kyle died on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at UAMS at the age of 73.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Sammy Pruitt.

Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Shana Cotton (Jason Smotherman) of East End, Becky Billings (Ivan) of Sheridan; brother, John W. Barnes, Jr. of Sheridan; sister Shari Rea (James) of Sheridan; grandchildren Morgan Cotton, Mikayla (Jacob) Moore, Cole Cotton, Madison (Drew) Greene, Emerson Greene; great grandchildren Makynlee, Kason, Lyla, Weston, Hallie, Kya, Mazie, and many extending family members and friends.

Graveside service will be Monday, November 3, 2025, at 11:15 at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan with visitation at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM. Bro. Brent Williams will officiate the service.

Pallbearers will be Blake Rea, Drew Denniston, Jacob Moore, Cole Cotton, Lenny Barnes and Jody Barnes. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Smotherman, Ivan Billings and Roger House.
