Larry Earl "Pa" Grimes of Sheridan, Arkansas was born September 21, 1948 in Lubbock, Texas, the son of the late Raymond Earl and Corienne Grimes. He was an active member of First Landmark Baptist Church in Sheridan where he was a member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Plumber and Steamfitters Local #404 in Lubbock, Texas.
He enjoyed going to Jo's Diner every Tuesday morning to have breakfast with the men of First Landmark Baptist Church. He also enjoyed fishing, collecting baseball cards and comic books. He was an avid Razorback fan and he dearly loved spoiling his 6 grandchildren.
Larry died Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff at the age of 71.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 15 years, Sharon Emberton Grimes; son, Jason (Cindy) Howard; daughter, Debra (Kevin) Nail all of Sheridan; grandchildren, Rebecca Nail, Aaron Nail, Andrew Nail, Kylie Howard, Kalie Howard and Kelsie Howard and his church family and friends.
Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Sheridan with Bro. Jason Howard and Bro. Shawn Hill officiating. Due to the Corona Virus, there will be no public visitation.
Pallbearers are Kevin Nail, Aaron Nail, Andrew Nail, Jason Howard, Bill Emberton, Larry Robinson, Danny Backus and Michael Watson. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class, the Tuesday morning Breakfast Club and Rethel King.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial be made to First Landmark Baptist Church, Food Pantry, 412 West Center, Sheridan, Arkansas 72150.
