IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry D
Hedden
March 13, 1947 – December 11, 2025
Larry Dale Hedden was born on March 13, 1947, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Marshie Jane and Joe Ray Hedden. He passed away on December 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion to family. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, known by all for his sweet spirit, warm smile, and genuine care for others—qualities that reflected his deep Christian faith. He was a faithful member of First Landmark Baptist Church in Sheridan, Arkansas.
From a young age, Larry loved sports and cars. He attended Sheridan High School, where he played both basketball and football, and later continued his basketball career at the University of Arkansas at Monticello as a member of the Boll Weevils. Following college, Larry proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1973, and in the United States Navy Reserves from 1973 to 1976 in Millington, Tennessee.
Larry married Susie Saddler in 1968, and together they raised two children. After completing his service in the Navy Reserves, he began a lifelong career with J.A. Riggs Tractor Company, where he worked for more than 30 years. He began as a salesman, later served as Used Equipment Manager, and ultimately retired while overseeing the International Sales Department.
On Valentine's Day in 1988, Larry married the love of his life, Sue Gwin Davis. They shared over 38 years of marriage, during which they enjoyed traveling across the country, entertaining friends and family, attending Razorback sporting events, and cheering on their grandchildren in their academic and athletic pursuits.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Martha Rae Keedy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sue Hedden; his children, John Hedden (Kim) of Benton, Arkansas; Kelli Rappold (David) of Houston, Arkansas; Gwin Davis Cunningham (Cotten) of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Gray Davis of Sheridan, Arkansas. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Jackson Hedden, Carter Hedden, Anna Rappold, Jake Rappold, and Blaine Cunningham; his sister, Betty Jo Horton; and his nephews and niece, Kent Keedy, Keith Keedy, Pam Gilbert, and Joel Stanton.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the many friends who enriched Larry's life, as well as the compassionate nurses at CARTI and the caregivers at Hospice Home Care.
