Larry Dale Thompson of Grapevine, Arkansas was born September 24, 1956 in Grand Saline, Texas, the son of Norma Bodie Thompson and the late L.V. Thompson.  He was a member of Pine Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Thompson was a retired engineer with Union Pacific Railroad, and during his career he also worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad and Amtrak, alongside his father.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and quail hunting.

Mr. Thompson died Friday, September 24, 2021 on his 65th birthday.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Don Thompson.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Anne Chappell Thompson of Grapevine; daughter, Ashley Freeman of Grapevine; mother, Norma Thompson; brother, Virgil Thompson (June); sister, Teresa Higginbotham (Mike); sister-in-law, Cheryl Thompson, all of Texas; grandchildren, Addy Caldwell (Bailey), Preslie Phillips, Canyan Freeman; a great granddaughter born the day he died, Aubree Caldwell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held in Texas, and will be posted once arrangements are complete
