Lawrence Neher of Searcy, Arkansas was born November 12, 1928 at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was retired from the United States Army, having served tours in both Korea and Vietnam. Prior to joining the Army, he was in the United States Navy. He was a lifetime member of the Searcy VFW post and enjoyed gardening and tending to his animals.

Mr. Neher died Monday, June 8, 2009 at his home in Searcy at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Garry Burr and 3 brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Louise Cagle Neher of Searcy; Step-son Roland Burr and wife Sandra of Searcy; Son, Larry Neher of California; Daughter, Sue Neher of California; Brother, George Neher; Sister, Alberta Neher; Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Hardin Cemetery (near Pine Bluff). Visitation: 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
