Lewis Clifton Crowder of Pine Bluff, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 17, 2009 at the age of 91. He was born January 7, 1918 in Leola, Arkansas the son of the late Ira Price and Della Smoot Crowder. He was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church at White Hall. He also served in the United States Army and retired as a Master Sergeant after over 20 years of service. After retiring he worked at Trotter Ford in Pine Bluff for 10 years. Hobbies he enjoyed early in life were hunting , fishing and gardening. He also had a love for animals.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Lena Mae Crowder, who was the mother of their children. A second wife Clara J Crowder. A brother Price Crowder and two sisters, Pauline Brashears, and Bertie Faye Stafford.
Survivors include his wife, DeNalda Crowder of Pine Bluff; son, Lewis Wayne Crowder of White Hall; Daughter , Tracy Lynn ( David) Earnest of Watson Chapel; Grandson, Lee Earnest; step-children, Pat (Jerry) Gamble of Tillar, Frances (Marty) Alford of White Hall and Michael (Lisa) Brown of Dallas, Texas; 8 step-grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. , Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church at White Hall with Bro. Tony Williams officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at White Hall. Visitation: 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan.
