Our beloved mama went home to Jesus on January 27,2024. She was born March 21, 1949 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Earnest and Mary Vokey.

Lillian was known to most as Penny, nickname given to her by her daddy because of the abundance of freckles on her face and her copper red hair. Penny was married to Wayne Manning in 1965, after he wooed her with his dark hair and guitar. Together they built a life in Sheridan, AR. Penny was a wonderful mother to 5 children. Martha (Carl) Carlson, Kay (Jon Paul) Anderton, Dwayne (Tammy) Manning, Debra (Tyler) Howell, Joshua (Brittany) Manning. Being a mother was the joy of her life. Penny was Pentecostal in faith and always eager to tell others about Jesus. In her spare time she enjoyed going on adventures through reading, thrift shopping, and bird watching. She is survived by her 5 children, her grand children—Garrett, Abbey, Ashlyn, Branson, Trevor,Hannah, Austin, Talon, Treyton, Brayden, Bella, Harper, a great grand baby on the way, and Sister Ruby Wedge.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents, siblings (Wanda Lee, Earnestine,  Sarah, and infant brother) and her beloved husband of 47 years Wayne

Penny mothered several others throughout the years that she considered her children even though they were not blood related. They all held a special place in her heart, and she asked about them often.

Donations can be made to the Grant County Library, located at 210 N Oak street, Sheridan AR in honor of Lillian Manning. The family is collaborating with the library to sponsor a reading program in her name.

Visitation will be January 29th, from 6-8 pm at Memorial Garden. Services will be January 30th at 2pm at Memorial Gardens Chapel with Brother Larry Swiger officiating. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery in Prague, Arkansas.
