IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Berry
Cox
September 24, 1947 – December 2, 2020
Linda Diane Cox of Sheridan, Arkansas was born September 24, 1947 at Omer, Michigan. She was a surgical nurse with McFarland Eye Care for a number of years, and had also worked at Jefferson Regional Medical Center . She had a great sense of adventure, and she and her husband James, had traveled all over the nation more than once, and internationally as well. She had quite a gift when it came to quilting. Quilts and baby blankets she made and gave away, are literally all over the country. Her artistic abilities allowed her to draw pretty much anything she'd see, freehand, with stunning results.
Now, all of those things mentioned about her are nice, but that's not what she would really find important. Her love for Jesus, and His love for her, was the most important part of her life by far. She adored her family, and thanked God daily for blessing her with them. She was a member of Bethany #1 Missionary Baptist Church in Grapevine, and served her Lord tirelessly, for as long as she could, and even after she was no longer able to attend, she was a Prayer Warrior. If you think you might've known her, but aren't sure, here's how you'll know. If you met her for the first time, or the 100 th time, and she didn't talk about Jesus, and how good He is, then you can rest assured, it wasn't her. She never missed an opportunity to testify of God's goodness, and mercy, and witness about His saving grace. She was truly an unapologetic, blood bought, born again, Child of The True Living God. Even in preplanning her funeral, she wanted to make sure the focus was on Jesus, and not her. We celebrate her home-going, and look forward to that glad reunion day.
Mrs. Cox died Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in Benton, Arkansas at the age of 73. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, and a daughter-in-law, Renee Cox.
Survivors include the light of her life for almost 55 years, James Cox; sons, Clayton Cox, Jon and wife Angie Cox; daughter, Becky Cox, all of Sheridan; grandchildren, Dylan Yarbrough, Ashleigh Cox, Talor Weatherly (Dustin), Corey Cox, Sara Cox, Briana Cox; great grandchildren, Clayden Weatherly, Renee Cox. She is also survived by a large number of friends, and countless numbers of people whose lives are better today, because Linda mentored them, and shared with them the Love of God.
Funeral services, well, actually Worship services, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday (She specified NO Sunday service, that is The Lord's day), December 7, 2020 at Bethany #1 Missionary Baptist Church in Grapevine, with her Pastor (who is also her son) officiating, Bro. Jon Cox. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery, at the Crossroads community, near Sheridan. Visitation is also Monday, from 10:00 A.M. until service time.
Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Baptist Children's Home, either by sending it direct to 222 West Pope Ave, Monticello, Arkansas 71655, or by giving it to Bethany #1 Missionary Baptist Church, and they will make sure it gets to them.
