L.J. "Cotton" Carrell of Harrison, Arkansas, formerly of Sheridan, Arkansas, was born July 23, 1941 in Sulphur, Oklahoma, the son of the late Harbert Franklin Carrell and Mildred Weems Carrell. For many years, he was a well-known plumber in Grant County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and really liked to travel to different states. He played baseball in high school and was a lifelong fan of the sport.
Mr. Carrell died Sunday, January 30, 2022 in Arlington, Texas at the age of 80. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Fitzhugh Carrell.
Survivors include his beloved friend, Sherry Weddle of El Dorado, Oklahoma; sons, Wendell (Carol) Carrell of Sheridan, Randy Carrell of Lono; daughter, Tammy (David) Griggs of Harrison; brother, Carlos Carrell, Olustee, Oklahoma; sisters, Sue Burnett of Joshua, Texas, Trena Jones of Godley, Texas; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Lindsey Poyen Cemetery in Poyen, Arkansas with Bro. Ed Plummer officiating. Visitation is also Saturday, 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Dustin Haskins, Danny Haskins, Gary Griggs, Nathan Griggs, Andrade De La Cruz, Chuck Fite; Honorary pallbearers: Tiger Nelson, Truman Fite.
