Lois Marie Edwards was born on February 2, 1944, to the late Clyde Henderson and Millie Christine Stuckey. Lois passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of nearly 65 years, Johnny Edwards, whom she married on November 10, 1961.
She also leaves behind her sons, Tim and Tate Edwards; grandchildren, Amber Freeman (Travis), Josh Edwards, Anthony Edwards (Leah), Andrew Edwards (Amber), Lillie Edwards, Demi, Troy Buie, Mason Edwards, Harper Edwards, Chossy Edwards, and Hannah Edwards; and great-grandchildren, Kayleb Freeman (Maryann), Kadience Freeman, Clyde, Hudson, Judge, Reed, Cash, Luke, Waylon, and Anniston Edwards, her sister, Allene Johnson, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Clyde and Millie; her son, Todd Edwards; her grandson, Alston Edwards; and her sister, Judy Mathews.
In her early years, Lois was a devoted wife and stay-at-home mother. She and Johnny owned and operated Edwards Store from 1974 to 1992. In 1997 she settled into what she considered her retirement job at Benning's Heating and Air. To Lois, it was much more than just a job; it was family. Mark and Charissa were so good to her and our family, and their kindness and friendship meant so much. Lois retired from Benning's in 2013.
Lois was a beautiful example of a God-fearing, hardworking, and loving woman. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and the very best Mawmaw, she loved her family and church family with all her heart.
She had a green thumb, a gift for cooking, and a heart for serving others. Known throughout the community for her delicious meals, cakes, and pies, she made sure no one ever left hungry. Whether preparing Sunday dinner for her family or sending homemade treats to deer camp, she showed her love through everything she did.
She was truly a rare jewel whose faith, kindness, strength, and love touched so many lives. Her greatest legacy lives on in the family she raised, the lessons she taught, and the love she shared.
Though she will be deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing that her mind and body have been restored and that she is now resting in the arms of Jesus.
Funeral service will be Monday, November 2, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Sweet Home Missionary Church with visitation also at the church from 1:00 until service time. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
