Lois Marie Byrd Rhodes of Sheridan, Arkansas was born November 1, 1921 in Poyen, Arkansas, the daughter of the late William B. and Clara Bell Wilson Byrd. She was a member of the Leola Church of Christ.
Mrs. Rhodes passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 93.
She was a loving and caring grandmother. Her children and grandchildren respected and loved her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was the life of the party. She loved to dance, sing, and visit. She always had a hug for anyone she came in contact with. She was a big Willie Nelson fan, and was, without question, the St. Louis Cardinals #1 fan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Clinton Rhodes; sons, Billy Rhodes, Kenneth Rhodes; step-son, Jakie Rhodes; brothers, Jack Byrd, J.B. Byrd; sisters, Meta Stinson, Wanda Tompkins and Vera Williams; 2 great grandbabies, Samuel J. Powell and Laurie Smith; a special friend and running buddy, Marie Hamm.
Survivors: sons, Bobby (Nancy) Rhodes of Leola, Milton (Sylvia) Rhodes of Leola, Dale (Ann) Rhodes of Prattsville, Gary Rhodes of White Hall, Michael Rhodes of Leola; daughters, Loretta Collins of Sheridan, Cleo Jones of Leola, Lorraine (Chester) Kendall of Prattsville, Darlene Rhodes of Leola; daughter-in-law, Patty Rhodes of California; brothers, Cletus Byrd of Leola and Vernon Byrd of Batesville, 28 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Howard Easterling and Bro. Kenneth Click officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor Cemetery in Leola. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
