Obituary

Lorena Stuckey of Sheridan, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at Baptist Healthcare in Little Rock at the age of 96. She was born December 16, 1923, to Walter and Jennie Harrington of Prattsville, and was a life-long resident of Grant County.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stuckey was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, J L Stuckey, and her brothers John Harrington and Henry Harrington.  She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Janet and D J Wallace of Sheridan, grandson and wife Brian and Alisha Wallace, and great-grandchildren Shawn Wallace and Kalynn Wallace, all of Van Buren.

Mrs. Stuckey retired from Paulk Family Clinic, and, until her health prevented it, was an active member of First Landmark Baptist Church, including the Sanctuary Choir, Golden Agers, OWLS, and Grace Sunday School Class. She was an accomplished seamstress, a fearless yard sale shopper, a great cook, and she loved beautiful heirloom flowers, especially ones she grew herself.  During recent years, her booth at Resurrections Antique Mall in Sheridan featured her handmade aprons and bonnets, and provided a market for some of her yard sale treasures.

There will be no formal visitation, however a guestbook will be provided at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and online at www.memorialgardenssheridan.com .   A graveside service is planned for Tuesday, June 23, at 10 a.m. at Philadelphia Cemetery in Grant County with Bro. Shawn Hill and Bro. DeHaan Thornton.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be made in her name to the music ministry of First Landmark Baptist Church, 402 W. Center St. Sheridan, AR  72150.
