Loretta Williams Smith of Sheridan, Arkansas was born on September 21, 1929 in Bearden, Arkansas the daughter of the late R.S. and Bettie Nutt Williams. She was an active member of Hope Pentecostal Church in Sheridan and years ago, she taught Sunday School at United Pentecostal Church in Pine Bluff. She cooked for over 53 years for Smith and Vailes Deer Camp. She also enjoyed canning, camping and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Smith died Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock at the age of 83.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Newt Williams and Newman Williams and her sisters, Lois House, Easter Cotton and Dorothy Smith.
Survivors: Husband of 65 years, O.A. Smith of Sheridan;
Daughter, Wanda and husband Carl Benfield of Sheridan;
Sisters, Louise and husband, Obie Bryant of Sheridan;
Carolyn and husband Bill Reed of Sheridan;
Grandchildren, Carla and husband Bob Reap and Chris Benfield; Great grandchildren, Chase Reap and Brooke Benfield and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 16, 2012 at Hope Pentecostal Church in Sheridan with Bro. Raymond Derrick and Bro. Keith Pennington officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Kenneth Williams, Chester Williams, Eddie Joe Williams, Linn Reed, Steve Bryant, Carroll Cotton, Harold Cotton and Jimmy Lee Baker. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Taylor and Jessie James.
