Obituary

Lottie Mae McBryde Valentine of Sheridan, Arkansas was born June 23, 1916 at Palmyra, the daughter of the late Willie Porter and Jennie Bell Melton McBryde. She was a member of Lost Creek Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed flower gardening and had a special gift for cooking. For many years, she babysat children in her home and became "Granny" Valentine to each of them. What "Granny" Valentine loved most was spending time with her family and creating memories that they will treasure forever.

Mrs. Valentine died Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center Hospice in Pine Bluff at the age of 91. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Troy D. Valentine; son, Billy D. Valentine; Great Granddaughter, Gabrielle Valentine; Great Grandson, Haydn Rathe Valentine; brothers, Powell McBryde, Leon McBryde; sisters, Lorene Ashcraft, Pearl Posey.

Survivors include her son, Wayne Valentine of Sheridan; Daughters, Anita Mitchell and husband Bill of Sherill, Trella Burnett of Sheridan, Carolyn Berry and husband Mac of Bentonville, Brenda Stuckey and husband Tim of Sheridan; Sister, Betty Jo Carrington of Oregon; 20 Grandchildren: Janice (Randy) Lynch, Brad Valentine, Lance Valentine, Pam (Rusty) Johnson, Penny (Perry) Lloyd, Mitch (Julie) Mitchell, David (Rochelle) Burnett, Jr., Sheila (Roger) Taylor, Troy (Cheryl) Burnett, Cindy Creech, Troy Wayne (Ann) Johnson, Wayne Valentine, Jr., Keith (Kate) Valentine, Michelle Valentine, Chris (Pennie) Berry, Heather Sanguin, Angela Berry, Jeremy (Amy) Stuckey, Tad Crowe, Jennifer Crowe; 39 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Roger Taylor and Rusty Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00-8:00 P.M. Saturday. Pallbearers will be Grandsons.
