Louise Herring Cook of Sheridan, Arkansas was born February 11, 1929 in Kelso, Arkansas he daughter of the late Jesse Douglas and Mary Willie Isom Herring. She accepted Christ when a young teenager at Kelso Baptist Church. She was a part of the Family Church in White Hall and attended Home Group under James and Laura Pierce until her illness. She loved to fish, travel, and make quilts. For two years she made child quilts for Arkansas Children's Hospital.
Mrs. Cook died Sunday, December 4, 2011 at her home at the age of 82. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melody Rice; a son, John Dwaine Rice; brothers, Jessie M. Herring, Bert Herring; sisters, Bernice Ingram, Hazel Chavis and Shirley Desha Herring.
Survivors: Husband, Rex "Mike" Cook of Sheridan;
Son, Darryl Rice of Albuquerque, New Mexico;
Step-sons, Michael Cook, San Diego, California; Larry Cook, Salt Lake City, Utah;
Step-daughter, Nesa Schneyder of Laureldale, PA;
Sisters, Mary Helen Dunnahoe of Hot Springs and Peggy Reaves;
Grandchildren, Joanna Rice and Jason Rice and a great grandchild, Hannah as well as many nephews, nieces, and friends.
Also, the family wants to say special thanks to Debbie and Doug for the loving care they gave
Lou and Mike thru her illness.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Walton officiating. Burial will follow at Center Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until service time.
Pallbearers are Doug Herring, Hugh W. Dunnahoe, Hughie Dunnahoe, Raymond Ingram, Jeff Ingram, and Gary Thrower.
