Obituary

Mildred Lucille Henderson of Sheridan, Arkansas was born April 23, 1928 in Sheridan, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Jacob Marvin and Dovie Viola Kelley Smith. She was an active member of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville and was a Supervisor for Prattsville School cafeteria for over 19 years.  She was a skilled squirrel and deer hunter, and still hunted until recent years.  She was always active, and her interests varied from embroidery to growing her garden and flowers.  When she got her zero-turn mower, she mowed her yard and every family members yards nearby, just because she enjoyed being outside.  She and Red loved good old gospel music, both listening and singing,  and she could not only play the piano, but the guitar as well.  She was known for her coconut cakes, and her skill for cutting a sample sliver out of her pecan pies, so that nobody could tell it was missing, just to "sample" it.  Her greatest accomplishment was being the best Mama and Granny that her family could've ever asked for.

Ms. Henderson passed away at home on April 27, 2021 with her family by her side at the age of 93.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband L.L. "Red" Henderson, great grandchildren, Kayci and Lane Holmes, brothers George David Smith, Jacob Stergin Smith, Henry Arlee Smith, a baby brother Marvin Ester Smith and a sister, Laver Brewer.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronny and Judy Henderson; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Rick Reynolds and Carol and Robert Ewing all of Sheridan; grandchildren, Julie and Clayton Smith, Amy and Nathan Clark, Kerri Henderson, Audra and Shane Davidson, Jennifer and Todd Burrow, Carol Beth and Brent Carr, Lindsey and Reece Grooms, Richard and Carson Ewing; great grandchildren, Kyler and Jordan Davidson, Keaton Davidson, C.J.
