Luther Carter of Leola, Arkansas was born August 21, 1941 at Cherry Valley, Arkansas, the son of the late L.Z. and Laura Louise Michaels Carter. He was a member of Leola Faith Assembly of God Church, was retired from construction work and enjoyed playing dominoes. One of Luther's greatest loves was his little town of Leola. For many years, he was the "go-to" man in Leola and truly loved serving his community and friends. He had a gentle spirit and a servant's heart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ann Cannon, Lavada Otts; brothers, Donald Ray Carter, A.V. Carter, and 2 great grandchildren.
Survivors include his son, Floyd Carter; daughter, Martha Carter White; granddaughters, April and Jessika; great grandson, Skyler Adam Carter; step-son, Brian Shepherd, 2 step grandsons and 1 step great grandson; brothers, Edward Carter, Floyd Carter, Claude Carter; sister, Ada Prestidge; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery at Leola. Visitation: Friday, 6:00-8:00 P.M.
