Obituary

Marvin "Lynn" Stubbs Jr. of Sheridan, Arkansas, was born on October 19, 1956, in Santa Ana, California. He was the son of the late Marvin Lynn Stubbs Sr. and Linda William Stubbs. Lynn was a member of Sheridan First Assembly of God, where he served his Lord faithfully, including building the kitchen, along with many other projects. Lynn or "POPS" was happiest when serving God, possessing a true servant's heart. He went on several mission trips to build churches. As a master carpenter, he enjoyed woodworking, including building furniture or anything else using his hands. He could envision the completion of any project before it ever began, even if it took him 67 years to complete a "project". He was a fixer of many things and if he ever said the words "I don't know" they were always closely followed by "but, I bet we can figure it out." Lynn had an incredible work ethic, that he made sure he instilled in his kids and grandkids, and was crazy enough to love any type of physical or manual labor, (that was not necessarily instilled in those around him).  He never spoke ill of anyone, and despite life throwing him many curveballs, he always caught them and kept running without a complaint. Above all, Lynn loved God and his entire family with all his being. He never met a stranger. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and a graduate of Sheridan High School, class of 1975.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mark L. Stubbs. Survivors include his wife and caregiver of almost 49 years, Connie Mitchell Stubbs of Sheridan; sons, Travis Stubbs (Holly), Trent Stubbs (Courtnie) of Sheridan; daughter, Tiffany Stubbs Brown (Richard) of Cabot; brother, Michael Stubbs (Linda) of Sheridan; grandchildren, Hunter Brown (Mattye), Matthew Brown, Gavyn Stubbs, Abigail Stubbs, Easton Stubbs, Kaitlin Stubbs, Trusten Mack Stubbs, Mackynzi Stubbs, Maveryck Stubbs; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Brown and Karrson Brown, his "adopted kids" Shelma Hamilton (Blake) of Ft. Worth, TX and Rocky (Rachael) Bellomy of Sheridan.  He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and countless friends whom he treasured.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 1 PM, with a memorial service to follow at 2 PM at Sheridan First Assembly of God Church with Bro. Dustin Sanders officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to plant a tree(s) of their choice planted by the family at places that are memorable. You may donate by cash or check made payable to a family member. Donations could also be made to Sheridan First Assembly of God "GAP" Food Pantry, 310 West Vine, Sheridan, AR 72150.

If you knew dad, Lynn or Pops you would know that he would not like this. He would want this to be a celebration, no sadness or mourning.  He would always say "I don't care, I'm gone, I've got my prize".  Please make sure you'll get your "prize" and meet him in heaven one day.
