Margaret Hamner
Harrington
Sep 26, 1932 — Jul 28, 2026
Sheridan
Margaret Olene Hamner Harrington of Sheridan, Arkansas was born September 26, 1932 in Sheridan, the daughter of the late Olin and Gladys Epnett Hamner. She was a faithful member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, and retired from Grant County Bank after working there from 1952-1994.
Her first love was Jesus, she knew it, and HE did too. Her gentle spirit drew in everyone who met her. She would instantly become their mom or grandma, and that was fine with her. Some people love because they have to. Margaret loved because it’s simply who she was. Whether it was cooking, or visiting, sending a card, or most importantly, Praying, one of the ways she served God was by serving others and pointing them towards HIM. In preparing for her Homegoing, she wrote that she hoped she’d be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, who was loyal to her husband and family. Among her greatest memories was the birth of her sons, them growing into adulthood, and then giving she and her husband their special grandchildren and great grandchildren. We rejoice that she’s no longer struggling with age and sickness, and that she’s reunited with her husband L.C., and so many other family members and friends.
Mrs. Harrington closed her eyes here, and opened them to see Jesus, on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, at the age of 93. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, L.C. Harrington; sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Razza Poe.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Traci Harrington of Sheridan, Ron and Connie Harrington of Sheridan; sister and brother-in-law, Nellie and Jim Wagner of Sheridan; grandchildren, Allen (Shauna) Harper, Shelby (Jesse)James, Tyler Harrington, Taylor (Kristen) Harrington, Megan Harrington, Marissa Harrington; Steven Anderson; great grandchildren, Cody (Taylor) Harper, Mia Harper, Aiden James, Emma James, Garrett James, Beau Harrington, and she was so excited for the arrival of Buck Harrington, due in September.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with her Pastor, Bro. Shawn Hill, and her sons, David Harrington and Ron Harrington, officiating. Burial will follow in Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 P.M.
