Marie Plunkett Fielding Benton of Grapevine, Arkansas was born April 2, 1917 in the Ain Community of Grant County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late James Preston and Myrtis Lites Plunkett. She was a longtime member of Hedden Chapel Assembly of God Church. Marie was active for as long as she possibly could be. When others, much younger than her, were spending their golden years resting and relaxing, she was far too busy for that. You'd likely find her fishing off of the houseboat, quilting, or cooking for her family and friends….and could she ever cook!

Marie died Sunday, December 4, 2016 at the House of Three in Sheridan, Arkansas at the age of 99. During her long life, she experienced great times and great tragedy. Through it all, she relied on her faith in God and her love for her big family. If she met you, you were most likely going to be considered family by her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William Clarence Fielding and Wilburn Q. Benton; son, Anthony Fielding; son, Walter Benton; brother, James Lester Plunkett; sisters, Theola Davis, Chlorine Plunkett; granddaughter, LeeAnn Fielding Gaddy; grandson, Mark Morris, grandson, Johnny Nooner, great grandson, USMC Lance Corporal Joey Gaddy, great grandson, Phoenix Benton.

Survivors: daughters, Shirley Fielding Morris of Hot Springs, Marilyn Nooner and husband R.J., of Sheridan, Sandra Kay Benton of Texarkana; sons, Sammy Benton and Ray Benton and wife Vicky both of Texarkana; daughters-in-law, Betty Ward and Annette Benton, both of Sheridan; sister-in-law, Thelma Plunkett of Grapevine; grandchildren, Sharon (Keith) Cooper, Tonya (Tony) Puckett, Tony (Carol) Fielding, Glynn (Misty) Nooner, Monica Benton, Tammy Benton, Joe Benton and Clay Benton; great grandchildren, Jonathan Funderburg, Shandy Nooner, Kalon Benton, Austin McClure, Erynn Nooner, Blayke Nooner, Kaeleb Benton, and Colby Blackstock, who she considered one of her own; Holly Carter, Andy Gaddy, Cassie Duncan, Boydie Morris, Amanda Clark and Andy Cooper; great great grandchildren, Jaxson Carter, Ava Carter, Jace Snyder, Alison Clark and Gregory Clark. She is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Jimmy Manning officiating. Burial will be in Ain Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 P.M.

Pallbearers are Tony Fielding, Colby Blackstock, Ronnie Plunkett, Randy Plunkett, Chad Koon, Justin Koon. Honorary pallbearers are Earnest "Sonny" Harris, Brooks Koon, Rommie Plunkett, R.J. Nooner, David Duncan, Glen Rieve.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Sheila Keith, as well as all the staff of House of Three in Sheridan, for the loving care you showed her.
