Marie McCool Gordon of Sheridan, Arkansas was born February 24, 1940 in Sheridan, the daughter of the late Lee Butler McCool and Allie Mae Morris McCool. She was a member of Lost Creek Missionary Baptist Church, and the Lost Creek Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed making personalized Christmas stockings and ornaments for the family. She loved shopping and piddling with her daughters and grandchildren, traveling, making the best pecan pies for her family and was an avid Razorback baseball fan.

Marie passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 85.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy Beckham, Curtis "Bud" McCool, and Tresia Mooney.

Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Kim Kauffman Crosby (Clifton) of Sheridan, Renee Randolph (Terry) of Hensley; bonus daughter, Karen VanHorn (Dave) of Fayetteville; brothers, David McCool (Kay) of Okeechobee, Florida, Kenneth McCool (Verlan) of Sheridan; Daisy McCool (Bud) of Atlanta, Texas.

She adored being a "Granny" to her 5 grandchildren, Kayla Richardson (Blake), Madison Backurz (Charlie), Logan Crosby, McKenzie Crosby, Katlynn Wicker (Forest) and loved being a "Great Great" to her 8 great grandchildren Adalyn, Aspen, Ransom, Nora, Blakely, Nazareth, Sloane and Parker.

Marie leaves behind a host of extended family members and friends. Her family meant the world to her. She will be greatly missed by all…It is not goodbye, but we will see you again.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Click officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation: Monday 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Gene Mooney, Josh McCool, Forest Wicker, Logan Crosby, Terry Randolph and Dave VanHorn. Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Backurz, Clifton Crosby, Dene Crosby and Blake Richardson.
