Sgt. Mark Steven Camp of Prattsville, Arkansas was born April 18, 1980 at Little Rock, the son of Tim and Sheila Rowland Camp. He attended Harmony Missionary Baptist Church at Prattsville, graduated from Poyen High School in 1998 and worked for Comfort Systems Heating and Air. Mark was also a Sergeant in the Arkansas National Guard having served tours in Bosnia and most recently Baghdad, Iraq. His greatest joys in life were riding his motorcycle and making others laugh.
Mark died Thursday, September 7, 2006 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton at the age of 26. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Walter Rowland and Great Grandparents, Janie and Harry Veteto.
Survivors include:
Parents: Tim and Sheila Camp of Prattsville;
Brothers: Justin Camp and Matt Camp, both of Prattsville;
Sister: Amanda Camp of Grapevine;
Maternal grandmother, Ruby Doggett of Prattsville, Paternal Grandparents, Bill and Ann Camp of Prattsville and Violet and Jim Thompson of Hillsborough, Oregon, Paternal Great Grandparents, W.O. and Velva Camp of Prattsville;
2 special military friends, Ryan Saling and Kevin Dixon.
He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville with Bro. Shawn Hill and Sgt. Major Steve Veazey officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville. Visitation: Monday, 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
