Obituary

Marsha Diane House Parker, 71, of Sheridan, went home to be the Lord on December 16, 2025 after numerous health issues in the last few years.

Marsha was born on January 18, 1954 to LaFran Buchanan in Laurel, MS and was raised by her adoptive grandparents Lavoe and Ruby Crawford.  After Marsha graduated from Crossett High School in 1972, she went on to Beauty School at Peggy's School of Hair.

After completing beauty school and acquiring her license, she went to El Dorado Vo-Tech.  It was there she earned her degree in nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse, kick-starting a 35-year career and dedicating the majority of her life caring for, and working with, the elderly.  She had a heart of gold and was adored by her patients for the nurturing and loving care she provided while in this line of work.  Marsha decided to return to college and acquire higher education.  She attended UAMS in Little Rock as well as the University of Madison and earned her degree in Business as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in both Arkansas and Wisconsin.  Between the two states she then finished up the next 8 years of her career working as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, totaling 42 years of caring for others, before deciding to retire.

In her retirement, Marsha enjoyed playing Bingo at Timberfest and family Christmases, going out to eat, being a dog mom to her sweet fur babies, Tori and Harry, and spending time with her family and dearest friends.

Marsha experienced many challenges in life and faced them head-on with incredible strength and determination.  She was a fierce woman holding fast to her beliefs, defending those she loved, and always seeking to better herself.  There were many incredible life lessons that could be learned from her about patience, strength and respect.  She wanted her family to know how so very much she loved them and what a blessing they had been to her life.  Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life and her relationship with her sister was cherished.  She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, colleague and friend.  She will truly be missed and will never, ever, be forgotten.

Marsha was a member of Pine Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Grapevine. She loved to read the Bible and had a strong faith in God.

Marsha is survived by her two sons, Shawn House (Deanna) and James House (Tracy) of Sheridan, AR; one step-son, Jonathan Parker (Beverly) of Ivan, AR; four grandsons, Ethan White (Alexandria), Brody White, Brady Buchanan; one granddaughter, Taylor White; great grandson, Hudson White; all of Sheridan, AR; three nieces, Carol Murphy (Roy), Haley Moyer (Adam) and Cami Fleming (Kyle) of Hamburg; sisterly best friend and caregiver, Annette Benton; and last but not least….her fur babies, Tori and Harry.

Marsha was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of 21 years, Arthur Parker; grandson, Colton House, mother, LaFran Buchanan; adoptive grandparents, Lavoe and Ruby Crawford; sister, Glenda Murphy; niece, Christy Murphy and brother-in-law, Bill Murphy.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 22, 2025 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Michael Walton officiating.  Burial will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery near Grapevine.  Visitation is Sunday, 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
