Martha Fay Hankins Puckett of Sheridan, Arkansas was born in Glendale, Arkansas on September 4, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Dankie H. and Eva Mae Reid Hankins of Glendale. She was an active member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church for many years where she was known as the "candy lady". She loved her church and her family. She enjoyed sending cards to the sick, sewing, crocheting and cooking for others. She also enjoyed babysitting for family and friends.
Mrs. Puckett died Friday, February 6, 2015 at Sheridan Healthcare and Rehab Center at the age of 82.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Reese H. Puckett and her brothers, Leonard, Carroll, D.H., Coyce, Ernest and Billy Hankins and sisters, Ellen Hankins Ramsey, Catherine Hankins Studdard and an infant girl.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Tonya Puckett of Sheridan; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Dennis Mitchell of Grapevine; grandchildren, Holly Carter and husband Daniel of Prattsville, Justin Mitchell of Sheridan, and great grandson, Jaxson Carter of Prattsville, brother, Bobby Hankins of Oklahoma; sisters, Nell Roberts of Pine Bluff, and twin sister, Dorothy Dorris of White Hall and numerous nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 9, 2015 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan with Bro. Terry Williams and Bro. John Mark Williams officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Tony Norwood, Juan Caple, David Moring, Jimmy Easley, Sid Dumond, Buddy Fowler, Robert Ashcraft and Dwayne Walters.
