Mary Jane (Sullins) Cobb went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 22, 2021 at the age of 92 in Heber Springs, where she was a resident of Southridge Nursing Facility. She was born September 22, 1929 to Hazel Eddis (Speck) Sullins and Sherman Luther Sullins, both of Huntsville, Arkansas.
Mary was a devoted follower of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and she loved to tell people about what He had done for her. She was an amazing piano player and she loved to play in church, as well as at home for her family and friends. She took great pride in keeping a tidy (spotless) house and beautiful yard. Mary, aka Nanny, loved her family dearly and enjoyed being surrounded by them as often as possible. She was a wonderful cook and always had a batch of cookies ready if she knew you were coming for a visit.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold R. Cobb; and her four sisters, Fern Hudson Parker, Jean Combs, Dot Auslam, and Jessie Garrison.
She is survived by her four children, Mary "Eloise" Wilson (Joe, deceased) of Sheridan, AR, Tommy S. Cobb (Vicki) of Sheridan, AR, Connie Burnett of Heber Springs, AR, and Johnny L. Cobb (Elizabeth) of Sheridan, AR. Also left to cherish her memory are her sister Jackie Ballew of Tulsa, OK; 6 grandchildren: Chanon Burnett Bishop (Larry), Cindy Cobb Campbell (Larry), Roy "Shane" Wilson (Heidi), Christy Cobb Whitley (Marc), and Christopher Minor (Lucy), and Chrystin Cobb Smith (Eric); 15 great grandchildren: Colton Bishop (Kylie), Tyler Campbell (Adrianne), Jordan Campbell Turbeville (Cole), Lauren Bishop Brown (Austin), Nick Whitley (Sami), Sydney Wilson, Katie Campbell Alston (Gavin), Spencer Wilson, Hannah Whitley, Jackson Campbell, Maximus Minor, Brynnlee Whitley, McCoy Minor, Emma Smith and Abby Smith; 7 great-great grandchildren: Kynslee & Addi Campbell, Lara & Alivia Brown, Avery & Caiden Turbeville, and Luke Bishop; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 27 at Memorial Gardens in Sheridan at 1:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with pastors Shane Wilson (grandson), Larry Campbell (grandson), and Tyler Campbell (great-grandson) officiating.
