Mary Frances Sansom Smith of Sheridan, Arkansas (formerly of Bryant) was born August 7, 1927 at Scott, Arkansas the daughter of the late Tildon Hendrix and Alice Vera Rae Sansom. She was Assistant Librarian at Bryant for a number of years, was a Baptist, and was very proud of being the wife of her career Air Force husband, Billy Ray Smith who died a number of years ago.

Mrs. Smith died Sunday, February 4, 2007 at Sheridan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 79. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Grover Howard Smith.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and husband Jim Kernan of Sheridan; Daughter-in-law, Phyllis Carr of Cleveland, Arkansas; Grandsons, Billy Allen and wife Angel Kernan of Sheridan and Harley D. Smith of Cleveland; Great Granddaughter, Mikayla Lynn Kernan of Sheridan.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 9, 2007 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Walton officiating. Memorials may be made to the Saline County Library.
