Obituary

Mary Wretha  Elswick  Gwin of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 11, 1921 at Kennedy, Texas, the daughter of the late Rev. R.M. Elswick and Virginia Grant Elswick.  She was a proud, charter member of First Assembly of God Church in Sheridan , and had worked as an interior decorator/painter/wallpaper hanger for over 50 years. She loved being with family, enjoyed Find-a-Word; watching Jeopardy and Wheel of  Fortune, enjoyed embroidery, gardening, canning, cooking and sewing.

Mrs. Gwin died Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock, at the age of 92.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Espen Lee Gwin; brothers, Ervel, John, and Chester Elswick and sisters, Edith Ross and Bobbie Smith.

Survivors:  Sons, Jim and wife Brenda Gwin of North Little Rock; Raymond Gwin of Sheridan; and Eddie and wife, Paula Gwin of Sheridan;
daughters: Charlotte and husband, James  Edwards and Micki Gwin, all of Sheridan; brother, Bill Elswick of Waxahachie, Texas; grandchildren, Barry and wife Loretta Edwards, Wendi and husband Jeremy Hignight,  Darla and husband Steve Turnage,  Teri Gwin, Joi Cummins,  Brent Gwin; great grandchildren,  Rachael, Elizabeth, Jack, Logan, Caleb, Noah, Jacob, Riley, Hazle  and a great great granddaughter on the way.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at First Assembly of God Church in Sheridan with her son, Rev. Eddie Gwin, and grandson, Rev. Brent Gwin officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan .  Memorials may be made to the ministries of  First Assembly of God Church, 310 West Vine St., Sheridan, Arkansas 72150. Pallbearers:  Billy Williams, Gary Don Smith, Dennis Emerson, Jerry Carder;  Ray Berry, Ray Williams, David Smith.  Honorary Pallbearers will be her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
