Mary Jo Perkins

Mary Jo Perkins of Sheridan, Arkansas, was born September 6, 1936, in High Island, Texas, the daughter of the late Joe M. Baker and Mary Alma Patterson Baker. Mary was a member of Westbury United Methodist Church in Houston, TX, and retired from teaching at Bonham Elementary School also in Houston. Mary enjoyed arts and crafts including ceramics and painting as well as traveling with her friends and doing volunteer work with schools. Above all Mary loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed any minute she had to spend with them, she will be dearly missed. 

Mary passed away peacefully at Sheridan Healthcare and Rehab Center on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the age of 90.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Dimmitt O. Perkins, son Steve Perkins, and sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Walter Beaver. She is survived by her son and daughter in law Dimmitt and Donna Perkins, grandchildren Dimmitt W. Perkins, Shelby Perkins, Erin Spillers, Josh Spillers, great grandchild Mila Agudelo, brother and sister-in-law D.B. and Diana Wright, nephews Joe Beaver, Donal Wright, and niece Deniese Cole.
