Obituary

Matthew B. Porter of East End, Arkansas was born June 5, 1934 in Alexandria, Louisiana, the son of the late Tolbert Edgar and Palestine Hill Porter. He was retired from the maintenance department at St. Vincent's Infirmary Medical Center, was a Baptist, an avid golfer, a fan of car racing, and an accomplished artist. Mr. Porter also served in the Marines having fought in the Korean War.

Mr. Porter died Thursday, August 19, 2004 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff at the age of 70.

Survivors: Son; Mark F. Porter of Pine Bluff, Daughters; Tracy Renee Porter of London, England and Cindy Kay Porter of Joplin, Missouri, Brothers; Duncan Porter of Roland, Talbot Porter of Hensley, Sister; Elizabeth Campbell of Hensley

4 Grandchildren: Katherine Sherbert, Kendall Porter, Kyle Delap, and Adrian Melindez.

Honorary pallbearers: Edgar Porter, Neal Porter, Larry Campbell, Charles Ward, and Grandsons, Kyle and Adrian.

Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 22, 2004, at Orion Cemetery near Sheridan with Rev. Bobby Hartsfield officiating. Visitation: Saturday from 5-7 P.M..
