Matthew Caplinger "Matt" Walters of Sheridan, Arkansas, was born January 26, 1984 at El Dorado, Arkansas, the son of David H. and Sammye Caplinger Walters. He was a Christian and member of Sheridan Church of Christ. He was a 2002 graduate of Sheridan High School and had attended Harding University. Matt loved spending time with his friends and was a good friend to them all. At the time of his death, he was living in Jonesboro where he worked as a waiter.

Matthew died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Regional Medical Center in Memphis, at the age of 26, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Survivors include his parents, Dave and Sammye Walters of Sheridan; Brother, David C. Walters of Sheridan; Nephews, Tyler and Nicholas Walters of Conway; Uncle and Aunt, Randy and Karen Caplinger of Rowlett, Texas; Cousins, Tiffany and Justin Caplinger; and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 14, 2010 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Clint Howard, Minister; Joe Jones, Minister and Rick Treadway officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation: 5:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Carroll, Derek Graddy, Chris Tribble, David Dobson, Kris Pruitt, Ted Howard, Taylor Howard, Andy Jackson and Kenny Sites.
