Mattie Joyner Taggart of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 7, 1928 at Wiville, Arkansas, the daughter of the late E.L. "Buck" and Nancy Jones Joyner. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sheridan where she attended the Sunshine Sunday School class and was retired from Sterling Faucet in Sheridan.

Mrs. Taggart died Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Sheridan Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 82. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Survivors include her sons, Richard D. Taggart II and wife Nancy of Sheridan and James Lewis Taggart of Little Rock, several nieces and nephews and her special friends at Crown Point.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Ernest DeSoto and Bro. Danny Hill officiating. Burial will be Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. in Augusta Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Augusta, Arkansas. Visitation: 5:00-7:00 P.M., Tuesday at the funeral home.
