Obituary

Maxsie Heugh Taylor of Grapevine, Arkansas, the son of the late Mannie Elzy Taylor and Zelda Taylor, was born in Grapevine on August 13, 1930. He died at his home on November 7, 2006 at the age of 76 years. He was former director of Northeast Branch of the University of Arkansas Agricultural Experimental Station at Keiser, Arkansas and Southeast Branch at Rohwer, Arkansas, having retired in 1993 after 38 years of service. He was a member, Sunday School Teacher and Deacon of Sardis Missionary Baptist Church at Grapevine.
He was a veteran of the Army during the Korean Conflict having served with the Military Police with duty in Alaska..

Survivors are his wife, Nona Mae Mathis Taylor of the home
Son: Todd Heugh Taylor of Dallas, Texas
Daughter: Alicia Joye Duncan (husband: Walter David) of Grapevine, Arkansas
2 sisters: Owetta Berry of Grapevine, Arkansas
Caremo Bumgardner of Pine Bluff, Arkansas
2 Grand-children: David Christopher Duncan and Rachael Lynn Duncan

Funeral services will be Friday, November 10, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Grapevine, with Reverend Ronald Young and Reverend Kenneth Mathis officiating.
Burial will be in Grapevine Cemetery. Visitation will be at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan on Thursday evening from 5 until 8 PM.

Pallbearers are Randall Lively, Mack Riggins, Rickey Don Riggins, Jackie Stone, Mike Clement, Delman Spharler, Byron Blackerby and Hal E. Lee. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Earl Brown, Steve Ashcraft, Perry Taylor, James DeMoss and Jim Brown.
